Welcome to the STNGR Workshop

Posted by STNGR USA on Jul 1st 2022

Hello and welcome to the STNGR Workshop!

My name is Rick Barrett and I'm going to be your host for this video series. Before we get into the nitty gritty, let me answer these two very important questions. Who am I and what is the STNGR Workshop?

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Rick Barrett, I'm a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and I've partnered with the folks at STNGR USA to bring you the STNGR Workshop.

The STNGR Workshop is a place where we can come together to talk about everything from gun maintenance, like what is in the gun, how to break it down, how to clean it and maintain it, to gun accessories, things like magazines, optics, scopes and more. We're also gonna highlight firearms' place in culture, both historically and in pop culture.

all about the ar15 platform
ar15 accessories
great guns of history
modern guns in movies and video games

My goal with this video series is to build a community where we can come together and share our love for shooting sports regardless of our level of experience. And to demonstrate one of the areas that we will touch upon in this video, let's talk a little history.

Which gun shot 'The Shot Heard Around the World'?

Many of us have heard of the famous shot heard around the world that started the American Revolution, but most of us don't know the gun that fired it. Let me set the scene for you. It's April of 1775 and a group of Lexington Militiamen under the command of Captain John Parker are gathered on their village green to face an advance guard of British regulars. Now, despite being styled as minutemen, the group of men that are under Parker's command were more of a town militia than a quick reaction force.

Now as they stood staring across the field at the British regulars, no one knows who fired the first shot or what he was shooting. The common belief is that it was fired from a Flintlock Fowler. Now the Flintlock Fowler are the long, smoothbore guns and they were the workhorse of the colonial settlers.

Today, the smoothbore Flintlock that captain Parker carried with him on that fateful day now hangs in the Massachusetts State House.

And that is one example of the type of content you're going to get here at the STNGR Workshop.

Building Community: The STNGR SWARM

Now, before I go, there are two things that I want to share with you.

The first one is that we are gonna be dropping videos once a week so you should keep your eyes out for those and also like share and subscribe to these videos to spread the message.

The second thing that I want to share with you is that I want you to go into the comment section below and tell me what you like and what you didn't like. Please be gentle. This can range from things that you found helpful to things that I might have missed to even suggestions for future topics.

One of the main goals of this series is to build a community that can come together and share their love for shooting sports here at the STNGR Workshop.

Final Thoughts

We've come to the end of this video. My name is Rick Barrett, coming to you from the STNGR Workshop. I hope you enjoyed this video, and I'll talk to you again soon.
