Stop Worrying About Compatibility When Changing Handguards
When changing your handguard, there is the possibility that you may run into clearance issues with your new handguard and the gas block. Selecting the Right Gas Block
You will need to check with your barrel manufacturer for the diameter of the gas block journal. The most common for .223 and 5.56 barrels is a 0.750" gas block. That means the gas block journal on your barrel should measure very close to 0.750". However there other sizes out on the market so it is best to double check with your barrel manufacturer before ordering a new gas block. Other than that, there really isn't much to be concerned about.
